This is 100% Côt (Malbec) made from vines over a century old, giving an astounding richness and complexity. The dark colour and dense, smokey nose are signature Malbec, with layers of black cherry, currant and rose. It has a full mouthfeel with ripe but firm tannins, perfect balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

Damien and Coralie Delecheneau, the winemaking team behind La Grange Tiphaine, have played a pivotal role in the revival of quality wines from the Touraine. Their dedication to organic and biodynamic winemaking is as well-known across the region, as is their passion for old vines. They own some of the oldest examples of Côt in France and created this cuvée to honour these exceptional vines just up the hill from their winery in Amboise.

Vinification: Vines of up to 120 years old on two different plots of red clay and flint soils over a 5-meter base of limestone. Grapes are hand harvested, de-stemmed, and gently macerated on the skins for 15 days in a cement tank. Then the wine is aged for nine months, half in concrete egg and half in old oak barrels.

Match it with: Tender grilled or roasted red meats, duck confit or a rich stew.
