Touraine-Amboise "Ad Libitum" (Red) 2022
A unique blend of the three iconic Touraine red grapes: Côt (Malbec), Gamay and Cabernet Franc. A lively wine, with ripe red fruits, subtle earthy notes and smooth tannins. Surprising intensity and a long finish. A versatile, elegant wine that is even more enjoyable when served slightly chilled.
Damien and Coralie Delecheneau, the winemaking team behind La Grange Tiphaine are both musicians and share a love of music almost as deep as their love of wine. Musical references are common in both their names and labels, and Ad Libitum is a musical term which means to play with free rhythm and expression. They believe in music, and in winemaking, the interpretation of the individual brings the most enjoyable results. This wine celebrates that freedom- it is a rare combination of the three grapes of the region- Côt, Cabernet Franc and Gamay.
Vinification: Vines from all three grapes grown on red clay and limestone. Grapes are hand harvested and gently pressed. Each grape variety is vinified separately, and macerated and fermented for 10-12 days for a slow and delicate extraction. The three wines are then blended and aged for four months in a cement tank.
Match it with: Grilled quail or pigeon, red meats, charcuterie or a spicy vegetable tagine.
