The is a sweet wine, or a “Moelleux” in the Touraine, with around 45g of residual sugar. It is made only in years where the grapes ripen so fully on the vine they can provide the needed sweetness. A wine that is full and rich on the palate, with peach, orange and nuts flavours. A slight pastry note is accompanied by sharp acidity and a full body. Best when opened a bit before serving.

Damien and Coralie Delecheneau, the winemaking team behind La Grange Tiphaine, have played a pivotal role in the revival of quality wines from the Touraine. Buisson Viau is one of the wines that has helped remake the image of sweet wines from the region, and is named after an area of the Montlouis region. This is a versatile cuvée with a sweetness and acidity balance that showcases the power of a well-made sweet Chenin.

Vinification: Grapes from 80-year-old Chenin vines in Montlouis-Sur-Loire are hand harvested in multiple passes to ensure optimal ripeness. They are gently pressed, and the juice is fermented and aged half in tanks and half in new oak barrels for eight months.

Match it with: Fruit desserts, cheesecake, Strong cheeses, spicy food.
