A fine, delicate Malbec with aromas of blackberry, black cherry and violet with hints of leather and tobacco. Full-bodied and powerful, bursting with dark fruit, spices, and a touch of minerality. Firm yet integrated tannins give structure and balance to this complex wine. Lingering finish.

Story: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve are leading a renaissance of the Cahors region. They share a vision of refined, elegant wines with a distinct personality. The grapes used for this wine comes from the top of the parcel just across from the Domaine, which has a north-facing exposure, meaning it has more shade and grapes take longer to ripen. The 55 year-old vines grow on red clay soils with limestone underneath. This the first cuvée the domaine made, and the historic vintages are in the perfect drinking moment right now! We highly recommend the 2004-2011 bottles.

Vinification: Grapes are hand picked, table sorted and destemmed. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo full bunch maceration with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 18-22 months in barrel. Unfined and Unfiltered.

Match it with: Beef cassoulet, roast beef, venison.
